Position
For a major digital transformation project at one of our key clients in the public sector, we are seeking a Junior Digital UX/UI Designer & Accessibility Specialist with experience in designing accessible, user-centered digital services.

Location: Milan. The role may be performed remotely.

Specifically, you will be responsible for:
  • UX/UI Design: Translating functional and business requirements into wireframes, user flows, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity visual interfaces using Figma.
  • Accessibility and AGID Compliance: Ensuring that the design fully complies with AGID guidelines for the Public Administration and international accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1/2.2, EN 301 549 requirements).
  • Testing & Validation: Use specific screen reader tools and automated/manual validators to verify the accessibility of prototypes and UI components prior to release.
  • Handoff & Dev Synergy: Work closely with the development team (Front-end/Full-stack), providing clear design specifications and optimized assets, and supporting developers in implementing correct semantics and accessibility criteria.
  • Design System Maintenance: Use, update, or define component libraries and design systems in Figma, ensuring visual consistency and code atomicity.

Requirements
Must-Haves
  • At least 2 years of proven experience as a UX/UI Designer or Web Designer, preferably on complex projects or those related to the public administration sector.
  • Complete mastery of Figma (managing components, variants, auto-layout, shared libraries, and advanced prototyping).
  • In-depth knowledge of the AGID Guidelines for the design of public services and mastery of accessibility frameworks.
  • In-depth knowledge of WCAG success criteria (Levels A and AA).
  • Practical experience with accessibility validation and testing tools and familiarity with the use of screen readers.
  • Solid foundation in web design: understanding of responsive design principles, information architecture, and human-computer interaction.
  • Nice to have: Knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, and semantic markup (WAI-ARIA) to facilitate technical communication with developers.

Additional Information
Compensation
The position is offered as a self-employed contract (VAT-registered) with a daily rate ranging from €200 to €220
