Junior Digital UX/UI Designer

For one of our Public Administration clients, we are looking for a Junior Digital UX/UI Designer & Accessibility Specialist with experience in designing accessible, user-centered digital services.

Activities

UX/UI Design: Translate functional and business requirements into wireframes, user flows, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity user interfaces using Figma.
Accessibility & AGID Compliance: Ensure designs fully comply with AGID guidelines for the Italian Public Administration and international accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1/2.2 and EN 301 549 requirements).
Testing & Validation: Use screen readers and automated/manual accessibility validation tools to verify the accessibility of prototypes and UI components before release.
Hand-off & Development Collaboration: Work closely with the development team (Front-end/Full-stack), providing clear design specifications, optimized assets, and supporting developers in implementing proper semantic markup and accessibility requirements.
Design System Maintenance: Use, update, and maintain component libraries and design systems in Figma, ensuring visual consistency and design system scalability.

Requirements

At least 2 years of experience as a UX/UI Designer or Web Designer, preferably on complex projects or projects related to the Public Administration.
Advanced proficiency in Figma, including components, variants, auto layout, shared libraries, and advanced prototyping.
Strong knowledge of the AGID Design Guidelines for public digital services and accessibility frameworks.
In-depth understanding of WCAG success criteria (Levels A and AA).
Hands-on experience with accessibility testing and validation tools, as well as familiarity with screen readers.
Solid Web Design foundations, including responsive design principles, information architecture, and human-computer interaction.

Nice to Have
Knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, and semantic web concepts (WAI-ARIA) to facilitate communication with developers.

Work arrangement: Hybrid, based in Milan.

We are looking for professionals available to work as freelancers (Partita IVA), with a daily rate ranging from €140 to €160.
