Introduction

Shapefield specializes in the development of digital products with a focus on user experience design, user interface development, and software engineering. As a working student, you will work directly on real UX projects and gain insight into our entire design process. The position is based in Hamburg, starts immediately, and is part-time, up to 20 hours per week.

Tasks

As a working student in UX design, you'll work directly on real UX projects and be involved in various phases of our design process. Together with product managers, designers, and developers, you'll work to understand requirements and develop clear, user-friendly digital solutions. You'll contribute both conceptually and creatively, actively bringing your own perspective and current trends from the UX/UI field to the team.

Your tasks

User and customer requirements: You analyze requirements from a user and customer perspective and help to translate these into clear, intuitive and comprehensible operating concepts.
User Flows & Prototyping: You design user flows and implement ideas in interactive prototypes that can be used to clearly present and further develop operating concepts.
Design systems: You work with existing design systems and support their application in everyday project work and their continuous development.
Interdisciplinary collaboration: You are part of a team of product managers, designers and developers, working closely with the various disciplines and actively contributing your own perspective to product development.
UX/UI Trends: You research current developments and trends in the UX/UI field, prepare relevant findings and share them with the team.

What you bring

Studies: You are studying media informatics, computer science, or a comparable field and want to increasingly apply your knowledge in real digital projects. Ideally, you have at least one more year of study ahead of you.
UX/UI experience: You have already gained initial experience in UX and UI design, ideally documented by a portfolio or initial work samples. We explicitly do not expect a perfectly completed portfolio.
Tools: You are familiar with Figma and the Adobe Suite, for example Illustrator, Photoshop or XD, and can incorporate this knowledge into your design work.
Working style & communication: You think analytically, enjoy working together with others in a team and communicate confidently in German and English – both orally and in writing.
Proximity to location: You live in Germany within a radius of approximately 150 km of our location and can regularly travel to Hamburg for on-site collaboration.

Perspective beyond the working student period: After your time as a working student, a voluntary internship, a mandatory internship or practical semester as well as a bachelor's or master's thesis are also possible with us.
