Role Description:
We’re looking for a Junior UX/UI Designer eager to grow within an established design team. Your mission will be to help define the simplest, most efficient, and most user-friendly way for a solution to meet users’ needs and expectations.
You’ll work alongside more experienced designers, applying established visual guidelines and design systems, and participating in real client projects from day one. Above all, we’re looking for a strong sense of judgment, curiosity, and a strong desire to learn.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with user research and validation tasks: participate in observations, collaborate on designing research tools, and help uncover insights.
- Support the design of the information architecture, workflows, content, and structure of the solution.
- Develop wireframes and mockups based on a predefined and approved visual style.
- Use existing components, patterns, and design systems, applying style guides and ensuring consistency and scalability.
- Implement defined interactions and microinteractions to create dynamic and coherent interfaces.
- Apply experience design guidelines and artifacts to diagnose and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Incorporate accessibility best practices into components and interactions, designing with inclusion in mind.
- Participate in co-creation and prioritization sessions with technical and business teams.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams working within agile frameworks to deliver value as quickly as possible.
- Validate with the team that your design decisions align with business objectives.
- Actively integrate into a dedicated client team, respecting their internal processes, work culture, and confidentiality levels.
Requirements
- 1 year of experience in UX/UI design (internships and academic or personal projects count).
- Education in fields related to design, psychology, sociology, computer science, or engineering. Graduate-level education or specialization in interface design, prototyping, user research, or data analysis is a plus.
- A portfolio that showcases your design process, not just the final result.
- Knowledge of Figma: layout, interactive prototyping, and use of existing libraries and components.
- Basic understanding of wireframing and navigation maps/information architecture.
- Basic understanding of responsive design and interfaces adapted to different devices and screen sizes.
- Basic understanding of interaction design and microinteractions.
- Basic understanding of design systems and UI toolkits: knowing how to correctly use and apply pre-built components.
- Basic understanding of evaluation techniques: heuristic analysis, usability testing, and benchmarking.
- Awareness of accessibility and inclusive design.
- Proficiency with remote collaboration tools.
- The integration of AI tools into the workflow (visual content generation, research assistance, workflow automation, etc.) will be viewed favorably.
- Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS to facilitate communication and the handoff of specifications to the development team.
- Familiarity with agile management tools (Jira, Trello, or similar) and collaborative documentation tools (Confluence, Notion, or similar).
Soft Skills
- Teamwork and active listening: the ability to exchange ideas and take the rest of the team’s opinions into account.
- Clear and structured communication, whether oral, written, or visual.
- Ability to justify your decisions with reasons and evidence.
- Self-directed learning: identifying your own areas for improvement and working on them independently.
- Accountability and results-oriented approach: taking responsibility for your deliverables and keeping the project’s goal in mind.
- Planning and time management, knowing how to prioritize based on importance and urgency.
- Resilience and flexibility in the face of change and uncertainty.
- Openness to feedback, both in receiving and giving it.
- A desire to keep learning every day and to share what you’ve learned.
Benefits
- Permanent contract with Multiplica.
- Hybrid work (offices in Barcelona).
- Full-time position
- Equipment provided
- 23 days of vacation and a shorter workday in the summer
- Flexible compensation through Cobee.
